Proud to highlight the student-athletes of Scarsdale and Edgemont
As I said in an email to my 2025 paid subscribers, we’re coming very close to a point where The Raider/Panther Reporter will not continue past the spring season due to a lack of community support in both Scarsdale and more notably Edgemont (very few ads, not many paid subscribers). I do my best to highlight as many student-athletes as possible, and not just the stars. I spend time interviewing, taking photos and compiling results to highlight everyone. The costs of running a business are not cheap and neither is my time. Like all of you, I just want to be able to support my family. I love what I do and in my opinion there is no replacing what I do. Once it’s gone, it’s gone forever.
This is NOT a non-profit, but it’s as close to one as possible in a good way. I’m not raking in money and asking for more. There is no greed here. I have reached out to many people, many business and many organizations and sadly many don’t even acknowledge me with a reply. Or they ghost me. I am making the effort to make this sustainable, but I am running out of options.
This season will be over before we know it and the summer will either be spent preparing for the fall or preparing to move on to the next phase of my career that doesn’t include Scarsdale and Edgemont athletics.
Is $100 (or more generous) per year really too much to ask for what it provides to the community? For what I have provided to the community for over 25 years?
